audit’s day-to-day thoughts

So far 2007 hasn’t been all that kind - Strokes SUCK!

Well it’s Febuary 2nd, 2007 and my health has gotten much worse. So let’s start from where it all started downhill.

• Arrive in Florida and find out my father in-law was just diagnosed with brain cancer 2 days before xmas.
• Kids are sick most of the time we’re on vacation and since our plans was based on spending time with my wife’s mom and step-father, we didn’t get to do much because he had radiation treatments for his cancer.
• Arrive back in Michigan on the 30th of January and things seem back to normal. (this is where it gets interesting)
• I have my first TIA attack which is called a min-stroke. Knocked me for quite a loop and it has affected my speech.
• 20th of January, Karen calls 911 because she fear’s I’m having a full stroke since my left side was very weak, blurred vision, headache, etc.
• So far we’ve seen 3 different Dr’s and nobody can put a direct cause other then the severe amount of stress I’m under between family and work.
• 27th I have the last attack. Karen puts me in bed, gives me my meds to help me relax and calm down. Voice is about shot. I’m unable to really speak well at all and I’m having shaking issues. The headaches are getting worse but I’m learning to live with them.

At this point in my life, I’ve been researching what option’s I have for life insurance for myself if I do have an attack that takes me down for the count. I’m also trying to research what my options will be if I end up on disability because I’m not sure how long I can continue to work with these headaches and with not speaking well, I’m not able to do my job 100%. I’ve also learned over the last month who are my real friends and who are there when they have nothing better to do.

At least I think I’ll start posting more here, although I really doubt anyone reads the site anyhow, it’s more or less a way for me to get my own feelings out without hitting the bottle or going nuts.
