The End has Come.

Last night at roughly 10pm, Karen’s step dad passed on. He was a very nice man and Karen made her peace with him before he died. There was a lot of resentment from her towards him dating back to when she was 15 and he married her mom and they moved to another city. Karen hated him for that but was also glad to see her mom happy again. There’s a lot more involved with her life that doesn’t nor will ever show up on this site for personal reasons but I’m glad that she made her peace with the man.

Tomorrow she’s supposed to arrive back in town again and a place that she had interviewed a couple months ago called yesterday morning and left a message saying they have the shifts open that Karen wanted and for her to call back ASAP. I didn’t get the message until it was too late to call them back last night and explain that she was out of town for the weekend due to a death in her family but I told her last night and she was very happy. She’s already gone through all the background checks, drug screen’s, etc, so now she just needs to call them on Monday and find out when she has to start.

Now on to another issue that’s got me really confused. Karen has a Verizon Razor cell phone. She used it to call me before she left on her connector flight the other night but when she landed in Florida, it said that she doesn’t have any service. Her mom has verizon and she has full service also. I tried to have her call *22899 which updates the tower information but it still wouldn’t go through. I called verizon and they said there’s no problems with our account. So now comes the fun part of trying to find her a phone when she get’s back. I’d really like to get her a Blackberry or a Treo so she can start getting into e-mail and txt messaging more but she really wants MP3 ringtones so that rules out picking up a 7250 off e-bay like I did. So It looks like I’ll be giving her my Treo here pretty soon. I just wish that she had a working cell when she flies back because of her layover she has and in case of any emergency’s. I’m sure things will be ok but I always like to think safe.

Back to Karen’s stepdad and her mom. I guess there won’t be a service for him and her mom’s going to be flying back to Michigan sometime soon to handle things with General Moters and then I believe there will be a small service here but nothing big. Him and I never were close or anything like that, I guess we just had a relationship because of marriage and that’s it. He was a decent guy to me and we had our moments where we didn’t see eye to eye but that’s always going to be the case for any father in-law.

Well that’s the end of my thoughts for today, I’ll be spending the rest of the day cleaning the house and making sure everything is ready for karen when she comes home tomorrow.
