Daisy is our New addition to the family

This weekend we added a new addition to our family. Her name is Daisy and she’s 7 1/2 years old. She’s a beagle/jack russell mix and is a ball. Best of all she was FREE. I found her on mail list that I belong to and the people dropped her off this weekend with all her toys, food, harness, inside cage that she loves to lay in, etc.

She’s a great little guard dog and is great around our cats. Our male cat gets along great with him but our 2 female cats still aren’t sure what to do with her yet. She’s VERY protective around the cats with her cage that she considers her room/house anytime the cats come near it to see what it is.

I’ve always had dogs until I married Karen 11 years ago and it’s taken me this long to get her to let me have a dog again. My wife and kids noticed that she hasn’t left my side since she’s arrived and they think it’s because she knows I’m sick and is trying to watch over me I guess. I wanted a Black Lab for hunting but since I’m done hunting for the rest of my life due to my illness, I’ll take this dog anytime. She’s a good rabbit dog from what we saw Saturday but that’s the nature of the breed. When my son is old enough to hunt, at least he’ll have a good rabbit dog for us to take with is.

So outside of the dog, the weekend was decent, I’ve had some issues with my health and the ruptured disks in my back are flaring back up again but a nerve block took care of that. Now on to the neurologist to see what’s going to be done about my TIA’s and the Parkinson’s. I’m taking Requip right now and will more then likely be starting on Levodopa sometime soon to get this under control a little more.

Thank god for my blackberry as it’s been a god send to me for keeping in touch via e-mail with friends, reading my different websites that I’m always on and RSS news/sports feeds and then of course, updating this site today. Today is my son’s birthday and he’s 11 now so this dog was a nice little gift for not only the entire family but also to him.
