Time for a device change

So I picked up this AT&T 8820 Blackberry for my wife to use but have found out that she doesn’t want to use it because she found out about the extra $30 month for the data service, she didn’t have a problem wanting an iPhone but then again she didn’t know that it’s $30 month for that also. I swear she uses at least $35-$0 month is 411 calls and I keep telling her that if she had a Blackberry then she won’t need that as I can load a couple programs where she can get numbers and maps to it if she needs to and in turn we’d break about even. Well she won’t cave so I’ve always been curious as to what the big deal was with the wifi on this is like so I activated this one on the BES and then on the BIS for emails on Sunday. It was time to give the 8310 Curve a rest anyhow since she’s been having a bad memory leak since I upgraded her to 4.5 OS on it.

So far when I’m at home, I turn on the WiFi and surf the net using that and am very happy with the speed since it uses my cable modem. I was able to install everything that I need OTA in record speed. And since it’s running the 4.5 OS also, It doesn’t take much to get adjusted to it. I’m waiting for a couple things that some friends are sending for it to help protect it for me from drops.

So in the meantime, I think I’ll just continue to use this until the Bold is released. At least now I know I’ll never be without my BB when I go into buildings where camera phones aren’t allowed, god only knows that I’ve missed plenty of calls and emails because of that issue.
