The CBM Extreme skating crew.

So my Son and his friend Corey started a skate boarding crew with another friend of there’s. His friend Corey is trying to get a sponsored and his folks are behind him 100% on it. All 3 kids in the crew started this crew and Brian’s catching up and learning fast. I know that once he started getting into skating just before school, our house became the neighborhood hangout for all the kids to skate at.

Above is a picture of the 2 of them that I took at the middle school yesterday after Brian got his new board. They really want to get some pictures of doing some tricks and jumps off 4-6ft high walls to the ground while flipping their boards in the process. Once I saw that then I put a stop to it until I get my son a helmet and some pads.

It’s funny that as soon as Brian goes outside with his board, you can’t hear a thing as far as kid noises and then within 10 minutes, there’s 15 kids over and half of them are girls watching them. There’s a few girls that really like Brian and he’s shown interest in some of them so that’s a good thing as far as a father’s worries go. Yes you know fathers worry about that so I’m not even going to say it.

Saturday night I sat down with his friend and Brian and we started researching the different skate crews and what it takes to get sponsored. His friends parent are all for it and we talked about building a website for the kids to showcase their talent. I took about 80 pictures last night at the school but the lighting just wasn’t right and Brian still needs to break in his board which should take about a week max the way he rides. I’m thinking that I’ll host that site on googles hosted sites since there will be a LOT of video’s and pictures. It’s just a matter of getting the practice in and I told them that this winter we’ll take them to the skate parks to practice and learn from the older skaters. Then next spring I’ll start sending out info to the different sponsors and get some feedback.

It’s time for me to move to the backgrould anyhow and let my kids take the spotlight in the things they really love. I’ll support them in anything they want to do as long as they have a secondary fall back plan in case this skating thing doesn’t work out. As I get some kick ass pictures and video’s then I’ll post them on here as well as a link to their main site once that’s done. They’ve already picked out the shirts they want as well as jackets. I have a place that will put the logo’s on as soon as I get them done and the kids save up the money over the winter for the shirts and jackets they want.

Now back to thinking about how my 401k has shrunk so much over the last 2 weeks. It’s enough to make a grown man cry.
