Notes for My Kids.
These are things I need to tell you, kids. I am writing them down in case I never get the opportunity to say them aloud.
- It’s not what you’re called that counts; it’s what you answer to.
- Never be afraid to stand up for yourself.
- God is your Father. I am simply His ambassador.
- Embrace all who seek truth. Beware all who find it.
- Respect yourself. This may make other people uncomfortable…and that’s a good thing.
- If a cause or a person is important to you, defend them accordingly.
- Learn the way of many weapons. Use none in anger.
- Pick an expression of the arts and make it your own; whether writing, painting, sculpting, woodworking, smithing, gardening, anything creative.
- Read, even if only for 10 minutes a day.
- Leaders only have power by your consent. It’s good to make that clear now and then.
